A Costume With Heart
There are many amazing female artists out there. Artists who changed the name of the game for the women who came after them. Artemisia Gentileschi still wows the world with her biblical yet gory Judith painting, hundreds of years after she lived. Georgia O'Keefe changed the world of landscape painting. But Frida Kahlo rises about the rest because she was more than a visual artist. The expression that made her paintings so beautiful was evident in every part of her life. She not only painted folk paintings but she also dressed in the native folk style. She wore her hair in braids and was proud of her Tehuana heritage, adopting the traditional wear into her day-to-day clothing. Think you're ready to represent this iconic artist? Details & Design
Our in house designers studied the many portraits and pictures of Frida Kahlo to find the right look for this licensed costume. The pull-over shirt has flowers embroidered around the neck and Ric Rac trim. The skirt is separate with white lace around the hem and black lace for a tiered look. Two large blue bows with clips allow you to accent your braids to celebrate Frida's bright style.
